No doubt, Aldo ranks among MMA elite

For those who question whether Jose Aldo is easily the top featherweight in mixed martial arts, take a look at his WEC 48 title defense last night in Sacramento, Calif. Then take a second look at the fight.
Jose Aldo/Zuffa
That should erase any doubt as to just how dominant Aldo is at 145 pounds.
In a fight that many MMA followers believed would be closely contested, Aldo put on a clinic against former titleholder Urijah Faber. He would go on to earn a lopsided unanimous decision.
The fight was scored 49-45, 49-45 and 50-45. FightLedger.com had it 49-45 for Aldo. See ESPN.com for more WEC 48 post-fight report. Only the first round, when the fighters were feeling each other out, was relatively debatable as to who deserved 10 points.
